We welcome applications for Seed Funding Grants between Switzerland and the following countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan (abbreviated as “CIS Region” for convenience)
A first Call for Projects from the Leading House for the 2017-2020 period has been launched and will be open until 15 May. The Call isfor joint projects between Switzerland and Russia, in the form of Program Starter Grants and Innovation Seed Grants. More details

The University of Geneva has recently been confirmed in its role as the Leading House for 2017-2020. Countries covered, in addition to Russia, now include Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
Discussions are under way to launch calls for projects and other activities to promote collaboration between Swiss institutions of higher education and their counterparts in these countries.
A call for Joint Research Projects was launched on 2 February 2015 by the Swiss National Science Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (MES), the Russian Humanities Foundation (RFH) and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR). The funding of 23-26 projects is envisaged in the call.
